Once I narrated a story to my son. It was about a cat who taught the tiger how to hunt. The story remains his favourite even now. Here is the story…
A tiger went to the cat to learn how to hunt. The cat was not in favour of the idea but since the tiger was very huge, it could not deny the request. The cat taught the tiger how to hunt. It taught the tiger how to wait patiently for its prey swinging its tail while waiting. It took a few weeks and the cat taught all the techniques. When the tiger felt that he was ready hunt, he wanted to try out his skills on his teacher.
The cat being the teacher was very alert, guessed what the tiger had planned. When the tiger got ready to pounce upon the cat, the cat climbed the tree in a flash of seconds and turned his face downward pretending to climb with his bumps up. The tiger tried to imitate the cat but didn’t succeed. After a much wait, the tiger went away roaring “you may be safe now but beware that I will not spare you, not even your stool in future”.
Since then the cat has started burying its stool so that the tiger won’t find it and we can still find cats burying its stool even today.
so sweet.....nice story...so without a teacher, there can be any example of one attaining a buddhahood...but if one tries to think over smart over the same person who taught him...this should be the case with evaone...
